A man by the name of Thomas L. Friedman wrote an article in the New York Times called Generation Q. The article was written In the October 10th edition. Freidman wrote about the different colleges he went to such as, Auburn, the University of Mississippi, Lake Forest, and Williams. Friedman said, “I am both baffled and impressed.”
With the War in Iraq turning into an insane and life changing event, it is beginning to take a hold on a great number of the people living in the United States. Friedman found a good number of people willing to show off their colors in front of anyone who is willing to look. In Auburn and the University of Mississippi, Freidman said there were many men and woman walking around campus showing off their R.O.T.C uniforms.
“Generation Q” as Friedman called them, are recognized as the quite generation. He calls them the quite generation because they live their lives, “at home or abroad,” as Friedman stated. Freidman writes about how his generation is leaving Generation Q in a huge economic problem. And if Generation Q is not extremely mad then they simply don’t care.
