Google and Microsoft are writting checks out to put advertisements online. These checks are not of any small amount either. A year ago Yahoo invested in Right Media for $200 million, and now Right Media has jumped in value. These checks Microsoft and Google are writting have forced Right Media’s value to skyrocket, and now the company is worth around $850 million.”I have to say I giggled,” said Brian O’Kelly, Right Media’s chief technology officer.

Doris Lessing was awarded a Nobel Prize in Literature, and was found sitting on the steps of her house in London. She was surrounded by TV crews. After receiving the Nobel Prize more than 100 people wanted to be Ms. Lessing’s friend on MySpace.com. A few of her friends who she did in fact accept as friends on her page were very nice and enthusiastic about Ms. Lessing’s Nobel Prize and how her life has been. The only problem with having Ms. Lessing’s as a friend on this web site is the fact that she is not an internet person. By that I mean she does not access the site herself. Ms. Lessing’s lets someone else run her page. The only reason Ms. Lessing’s has a page to begin with is because she knows that MySpace.com is a huge deal to the teens of the world. Ms. Lessing’s Page has more than just comments and responses on it, it also has information to the HarperCollins online marketing manager, Jeffrey Yamaguchi.Jeff says he has seen this kind of thing happen before where a writer is very successful and does not have a blog or MySpace page. He says it is quite common actually, because a blog page or a MySpace page can be very time consuming and a writer needs to be writing not worrying about blogs and MySpace. In a Grocery Store Far, Far Away…

Aaron Yonda and Matt Sloan have created a throw off of Star Wars and created the scenes in a grocery store. The videos these two make are renown over you tube.com and they have created an entire series so far. The series is called “Chad Vader,” Chad they say is Darth Vader’s younger brother. The first episode of their show is called “Chad Vader: Day Shift Manager” and the costume used in the acting is a $600 costume. Mr. Yonda was the one to wear this costume, and he bought this one because he really wanted to get the look right. The series is about a power hungry manager who works the day shift at a local grocery store. The saga only has eight parts but is one of the Youtube’s biggest hits. Mr. Yonda and Mr. Sloan’s saga has been viewed over 19 million times since they started the films in June 2006. Canon has brought these two to New York to make a “Battle of the Internet Superstars” video. Mr. Yonda and Mr. Sloan my or may not become something more than just a niche act, the question remains unanswered. Google keeps a gap between it’s rivals and the gap just keeps getting larger. Results say that Google is growing twice as fast as any other online advertisement site on the internet. Google’s shares have now risen to over $100 a share. Google has a revenue last month of 46 percent, and sales rose 57 percent. Their competitors Yahoo only had a 12 percent revenue last month. Google’s net income grew to $1.07 billion, it grew form $733 million. Google’s net revenue grew to $4.23 billion, not including commissions for advertisement. He is 17 years of age, he’s got a big name for himself, he’s got all the money he could want, and he’s got a new album coming out soon. The name of this young rapper is only known as Soulja boy Tell’em, or just simply Soulja Boy. “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” is most likely the most viral song of the decade. Before “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” became the No. 1 hit it was underground, and the underground loved it.

You could find the song on Youtube.com and a few other sites around the internet. Soulja Boy also wrote a song as a tribute to “The Simpons Movie” called “Spider Pig (Soulja Boy).” Soulja Boy may be a rowdy 17 year old boy, but he keeps his lyrics exciting and curse free. Big Guys Are Goin’ Down!!!

There are many problems going through the ancient Japanese sport of sumo. These accidents and problems seem to have no consistency and share nothing in common to each other. There have been injuries and coaches being expelled, and there was even a situation in which a sumo grand champion was suspended. To top off all this bad, something even worse happened during a match last month. A women tried to climb into the ring where women are strictly forbidden. They forbid women because they are considered impure for Sumo.The traditions of Sumo wrestling has not changed a great deal since ancient times in Japan. Associates of stable masters still do chores and other activities of the sort for the older men of the sport. With Japan expanding and the world continuing, the number of Japanese men who attend in Sumo has been cut in half since the early 1990’s. If Japan does not get anymore young men to go out for Sumo, Japan may have to change its only sport tied directly to the country. A man named Mr. Khan has been writing blogs about the war in Iraq for some time now. The man has made various videos about the Americans and how they are acting during the war. Mr. Khan’s videos are not something someone in the U.S Army would most likely approve of. For example, one of the videos on the site show an American hiding from gun fire during an ambush, and Mr. Khan has his own commentary about how the American troop is acting in this situation. He talks in the background of a war happening and calls the troop a baby for hiding from enemy fire.

Mummified From Starvation!!!

An article, written by Norimitsu Onishi on October 12^th 2007, can be found on the front page of the New York Times called “Starving Man’s Diary Suggests Harshness of Welfare in Japan.” There was an unnamed man who was found in his home dead and partially mummified, with a diary found on his body. The Diary explained in detail what the last days of this poor mans life were like, after welfare cut his dues.

One entry found in the diary states “3 a.m. This human being hasn’t eaten for 10 days but is still alive. I want to eat rice. I want a rice ball.” This man was to poor to even afford a rice ball, which is only $1 at any local convenience store. The only thing more sad than his story is the fact that he is not the only death caused the welfare cuts in Japan.

Authorities in Japan are quite embarrassed by the content of this diary. The diary shows the changes that have happened in Japans economic system. Some cities in Japan have been forced to tighten the income of the cities. Anyone who has welfare is expected to use up their life savings or get help form a relative before receiving benefits. This is a sad story indeed and something needs to happen to change the economic problem in Japan, before more people die of starvation.

Generation Q

A man by the name of Thomas L. Friedman wrote an article in the New York Times called Generation Q. The article was written In the October 10^th edition. Freidman wrote about the different colleges he went to such as, Auburn, the University of Mississippi, Lake Forest, and Williams. Friedman said, “I am both baffled and impressed.”

With the War in Iraq turning into an insane and life changing event, it is beginning to take a hold on a great number of the people living in the United States. Friedman found a good number of people willing to show off their colors in front of anyone who is willing to look. In Auburn and the University of Mississippi, Freidman said there were many men and woman walking around campus showing off their R.O.T.C uniforms.

“Generation Q” as Friedman called them, are recognized as the quite generation. He calls them the quite generation because they live their lives, “at home or abroad,” as Friedman stated. Freidman writes about how his generation is leaving Generation Q in a huge economic problem. And if Generation Q is not extremely mad then they simply don’t care.

XBox+Toyota=???

Toyota has created a strange new mini-game found on the XBox live marketplace. The game consists of the new Toyota Yaris with a huge tentacle attached to the top of the car. Attached to the end of the tentacle is a gun that is used to shoot down enemies as you speed down a tunnel.
